Sherpa vs Fleece Blanket
Sherpa and fleece both describe soft, plush blanket fabrics, and the words often get mixed up. Here is what the difference means for the printed blankets we sell.
What is a sherpa blanket?
A sherpa blanket has a textured, plush pile on one side. In our blankets that is long-pile sherpa fleece on the back, which gives the blanket its plush, fluffy feel.
What is a fleece blanket?
Fleece usually refers to a smoother, soft polyester fabric. Our printed front is soft polyester, which is where the design is printed with dye sublimation.
Sherpa vs fleece in our blankets
Our blankets use both: a smooth, soft printed polyester front and a plush sherpa fleece back. The whole blanket is 100% polyester, at 12.8 oz/yd² (435 g/m²), with rounded corners and decorative stitching.
Care for sherpa fleece
Machine wash cold (maximum 30°C / 86°F) on a gentle cycle, tumble dry on low, and do not bleach, iron or dry clean. More details in our cleaning guide.
